Who said Illinois is not hilly?
The Chicagoland area is notoriously known as being quite flat. The reason why many people chose the Chicago Marathon is because of the fact that it is flat and fast. However, just because this area is without hills, do not get the impression that the rest of Illinois is that way.
This weekend, Prince E and I went to Southern Illinois to the Shawnee National Forest and the Garden of the Gods (which was on my list). The whole area is quite hilly. Bordering on mountainous really.

I went for a run on Saturday around grounds of the cabin we stayed at and saw the goats, horses, and guinea hens that live there.

I also went across the street and ran around the Rock Recreational trail, which was .75 miles. The whole run was about 30 minutes, but I was completely spent afterward as if I had been running twice as long. I like having the chance to run somewhere new and fun, as opposed to the same old routes.
